French Toast Ala Orange

A bright and flavorful French toast made with orange juice, vanilla, and fresh orange zest, cooked until golden brown and perfect served with sugar-free syrup.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 egg
  • 2 egg whites
  • cup unsweetened orange juice
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 teaspoon grated orange peel
  • 4 slices of bread

Method
 

  1. Beat together egg and egg whites.
  2. Mix the eggs with unsweetened orange juice, vanilla, and the grated orange peel and poor into a pie plate.
  3. Heat frying pan over medium heat. Spray pan with non-stick cooking spray.
  4. Dip bread into mixture and cook until both sides are your desired shade of brown.
  5. Serve immediately, topped with sugar-free syrup if desired.
