Product Description

This is an all-in-one, foam dressing that effectively absorbs and retains exudates, maintaining a moist wound environment. The Mepilex foam dressing 4x4 has a Safetac® layer that seals the wound's edges, preventing the exudates from leaking onto the surrounding skin, thus minimizing the risk for maceration. The Safetac® layer also ensures that the dressing can be changed without damaging the wound or surrounding skin or exposing the patient to additional pain.

The Mepilex Border 4X4 dressing is designed for ease of use
May remain in place for several days depending on the condition of the wound
Consists of a soft, silicone, wound-contact layer, an absorbent pad in three layers, a polyurethane foam, a nonwoven layer, a fiber mixture with super absorbent polyacrylate fibers, and an outer film that is vapor permeable and moisture- and bacteria-proof
May be lifted and adjusted without losing its adherent properties
Low potential for skin irritation and allergy

Can I cut my Mepilex dressing to fit my wound?

Yes, if needed, Mepilex dressings can be cut to fit the shape of your wound. The Mepilex Border 4X4 dressing is an excellent choice for wounds that are difficult to dress with traditional bandages.

How do I apply the Mepilex foam dressing 4x4?

The wound should be cleaned thoroughly before applying the dressing.
While wearing sterilized gloves, pull half of the clear film away from the bottom of the dressing. Gently place the dressing over the wound—it should overlap the wound by at least 2 cm.
Remove the remaining clear film as you gently press the dressing over the wound.
If fixation is required, use Tubifast.

I obtained this bandage when at the VA Clinic in Morehead, KY. This is the Best bandage I have ever used and I'll be 75 years young this October. Can be removed and then replaced without damaging the wound or your skin. Really a Great product.
