Frequently Asked Questions

What syringe is compatible with Autoject 2?

According to the American Diabetes Association, this device is compatible with most major brands of fixed needle insulin syringes for subcutaneous medication delivery. It can also be used with the 1 ml BD Removable Needle Tuberculin Syringe.

Is Autoject 2 reusable?

Yes, the device itself is a reusable tool for medication delivery. However, it uses disposable (single-use) plastic syringes.

Is the Autoject 2 EI the same as the original Autoject 2?

While the two Owen Mumford products are very similar, the EI (External Indicator) version has a visual indicator bar that shows the medication delivery process and provides a clear visual indication when medication delivery is complete.

Autoject 2 E / External Indicator

I was forced to seek less expensive options for my GLP-1. Due to not affording $1000 a month after my first month with the big brand name autopen. That took a huge bite out of my finances. I decided to go to the vial. I found these 2 auto injectors and decided to go with the external visual indicator. I personally practiced loading and injecting an orange with a loaded syringe filled with water to see how it would work before using it on myself. The device worked great. However there is room for improvement. It does NOT retract the needle as another review stated. You have to pull the needle out yourself so that was a disappointment for me. However after injecting myself it wasn't so bad doing so. I didn't feel anything. The noise it makes is startling at first but I will get used to it. It delivered my medication as directed so my device worked perfectly as it should. Using the external indicator is a little awkward since the trigger button is on the side instead of on the top but again it's a learning process. I hope they do come out with a more easier one that retracts the needle and have a back button just like the big brand has. In the mean time I will continue to use this one. I recommend this for those that do not want to use the syringe and needle by itself.

Works like a charm!

Developed a bit of a needle phobia after a month of GLP-1 injections. Used this product and it's fantastic! Painless and fast. Have recommended to others and my doctor in case others have the same issue.

Great Injector

I used this injector to replicate other auto injectors for GLP-1 products after insurance would not cover and I was forced to go to vials and syringes through a compounding pharmacy. The directions were a little confusing at first, but once that was figured out it was painless, literally. The injection is so fast I felt nothing. Definitely recommend if you were on a big name manufacturer of pens and had to switch to vials and use a syringe. Great product, have already mentioned to others.

Great Tool

We have a 50lb dog, Abbie, who was diagnosed with diabetes a few months ago. She hated the insulin shots. I would head to her, with syringe in hand, and she'd take off. Well, we got the AutoJect2 - it's the best! I bought 30 gauge syringes (our vet supplied 29 gauge) and Abbie doesn't even seem to feel the injection. I let her know "here comes a pinch" - but then there's a little treat. She seems to understand that we are helping her. I really think the combination of the finer needle and the AutoJect 2 makes a huge difference, and removes so much stress, too!

Injector with visual indicator

I picked the Autoject that has the visual indicator. I am mortified of needles and shots and I needed B12. I bought this pen hoping for a better way. Read the directions, you place an insulin syringe inside of this, the whole thing. There is a guide for setting the needle depth. Selling points if you are scared. First, you do not see the needle when loaded, second it fires very quickly. 60 units of B12 went 8mm deep (sub-Q) in 1 second. Third, the needle pulls back when complete. Fourth, the trigger vibration and speed is so quick, I had to unscrew the thing and check the needle, because there was zero pain, I thought it hadn't fired correctly. Buy it, sweat through using it the first time, and you won’t care about shots after that. Best purchase imaginable for someone who has a fear of needles.

Great Product, Great Company

I just started using the Autoject and it is so simple and easy to use. I have essential tremors in my hands and injecting manually was a nightmare even to the point of bending the needle as I was injecting. That's no longer a problem! ADW Diabetes is a great company to buy from. Their service is the best and their communication with customers is tops!

Beats the old way

This is so much easier than the old way of injecting trimix. However, I wish the tip was concave instead of flat or came with a saddle shaped attachment to help prevent slippage.

Excellent product

Excellent. Easy to use. Appreciate the indicator over the Autoject 2.

Game Changer

I wish I had known about this product sooner. I no longer have to try and comfort my anxious, furry BFF prior to these 12 hour injection intervals who despises these shots. She is more concerned with the click noise of the injector mechanism and when she realizes what it was, the shot is already over.

Essential for small, squirming diabetic dogs

Our twice-a-day insulin injections to our 8 lb miniature poodle (Fraggle) are now stress free and we couldn't do this without this product. We bought 2 to make sure we're never without one. Before, 2 people were required for this task. Now it is easily done by one. Love it!
