This pad that looks and feels like human skin is ideal for diabetic instruction and injection practice. May be worn on the body in specific locations (stomach, thigh, upper arm) to allow patients to inject fluid into the pad to practice giving themselves injections. Pad is thick enough to accept all insulin needles. For safety purposes, the 6-1/4" L x 4-1/4" W x 3/4" D oval pad has a hard plastic backing to prevent the needle from poking through the pad and into the wearer’s skin. Has a 1" wide nylon strap with an adjustable plastic buckle. Three-year warranty.
Care of the replica is important. The injection pad is considered disposable, however, with proper care and treatment it will serve its purpose for a long period of time. You may inject this simulator with distilled water, however, it is recommended to inject air since the water cannot be drained, but must evaporate (the more liquid that is injected into the simulator, the longer the time for evaporation). Do not use actual insulin or other medications, as they may deteriorate the material. Using the smallest needles possible when simulating injections and rotating the insertion points will prolong the life of the replica. Avoid contact with ink, newsprint, or any printed material, as these will permanently stain the replica. To clean: wipe the surface with a soft cloth dampened in a mild soap and warm water solution. Rinse by wiping with a soap-free dampened cloth.Features:
- Replaceable Pad
- Nylon strap included allowing for a custom fit on various body parts (leg & arm).
