Annie is a 11+ year old Lhasa Apso. She's been diabetic for about 6 years and recently gone blind (but doing very well). We blood test several times a day using either the Walmart Relion PRIME or AlphaTrak2 systems. Uses Relion branded Novolin-N, with a small bit of Novolin-R to cover food spikes if needed. Eats a weighed amount (weighing is more accurate than measuring cups) of Blue Buffalo Healthy Weight dry kibble. She gets a small amount of cooked black beans and 1/4 teaspoon of Benefiber for added fiber in each meal (12 hours apart). About the only between meal treats are 2-3 pieces of cut frozen green bean (yes frozen, straight from the freezer!). She would get the green bean treat after blood tests as a treat for being a "good girl" in testing.
