  • How To Deal with it

What happens when you find out your pet has diabetes, is this a death sentence for him? Should he be put under or can he keep living without suffering?

This is a very depressing thought to me.

Diabetes is not a death sentence for pets. The disease can be managed. Please go to [link removed] and you will find a world of information about diabetes in pets. The pet section of this forum doesn't seem to be very active and I hope it is okay to post the url of another forum.

Hi, thank you, that was very informative.

I liked the free flyers they have available to print out also.

Just for general information--I have a cat who was diagnosed 4 years ago with diabetes. He is doing very well. I monitor him daily and feed a good quality raw diet and he has improved immensely. He used to get injections twice a day and now is down to once a day. He has a great quality of life!

These days veterinary science has advanced so much. A few years ago, Diabetes in a pet would have been a death sentence. Now our companions can be with us a lot longer.
