Is it necessary to use a independent medical cooler or fridge to keep your insulin?

Well, the insulin that I'm not using I keep in the refrigerator on the door. The insulin that I use daily I keep in my purse.

I wanna to ask, is it necessary to use an independent medical cooler or fridge to keep your insulin?

I think a protable light cooler is helpful when diabetes travel, but how about an independent medical cooler or fridge to keep insulin at home?
